Our contact information is listed at the bottom of each of our web pages.  If your organization or if you know of an organization that is in need of assistance, please feel free to email us with details so that we can evaluate our ability to respond to your needs.

Our current and past contributions include:

Box Tops for Education

The Eagle River MOMS Club began collecting the Box Tops for Education coupons to give to our local schools in early 2004.  The Box Tops for Education program is an easy way for us to contribute to our local schools by clipping Box Top coupons from products we normally buy and use.  Each coupon donated earns the school 10 cents from General Mills.  These are “awarded” to the mom that turns in the most to be given to a participating school of her choice.

McKinnell House

Our first  MOMS Club of Eagle River Garage Sale was held in May 2005.  Members were provided space to sell their items for themselves for a small fee and also donated items for us to sell.  Members of the community and the Boys and Girls Club of Alaska, Eagle River also donated items.  In addition, we held a bake sale at the garage sale with many delicious items donated by our members.  Proceed were donated to McKinnell House and any items not sold were donated directly to the Salvation Army and the McKinnell House.

MOMS Club of Eagle River Cookbook profits:

FOCUS
Starting mid-2003 members began contributing recipes to create a cookbook of family favorites.  After a lot of time and effort spent, these terrific cookbooks are now on-sale for $10 each.  The initial profits realized were donated to The Family Outreach Center for Understanding Special-Needs, Inc. or FOCUS, Inc. of Chugiak/Eagle River.

HUGSS
Our continued success selling our cookbooks has enabled us to select another charity to receive the profits from our efforts.  Members voted on the next donation point and selected HUGSS to receive our next donation check.  Profits from the cookbook were combined with a generous donation made through the effort of one of our members selling the Northern Lights Coupon Book and profit from our attempt at our first Home Based Business Catalog sales.

We will continue to sell our cookbooks so that future profits can be donated to benefit another local charity chosen by our membership.

Volunteers of America Alaska--Camp Hope
Clare House
4-23 Infantry Christmas Stocking stuffing

The MOMS Club of Eagle River donated the bulk of its profits from the 3rd Annual Home Business and Craft Bazaar (2004) to the following charitable causes:  Volunteers of America Alaska--Camp Hope (Summer camp for children whose lives have been impacted by substance abuse in the family);  Clare House (Emergency shelter for Women and Women with children); 4-23 Infantry Christmas Stocking stuffing for single soldiers with no family here in Alaska.

MADD

The MOMS Club of Eagle River donated the bulk of its profits from the 2nd Annual Home Business and Craft Bazaar (2003) to the Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

AWAIC

Through donations from MOMS club members and from money earned and donations from the 1st Annual Craft Bazaar (2002), the MOMS Club of Eagle River has provided several "starter kits" to the AWAIC (Abused Women's Aid in Crisis) shelter for women that are starting over.   Members have also donated other items directly to the shelter.

Chugiak Senior Center

MOMS club members and their kids have in the past visited the "day program" grandmas and grandpas who are individuals who are living with their families, but come to the Senior Center during the day while family members are at work. Most of them have either a history of stroke, dementia or need help physically throughout the day.  They are wonderful and love to have the kids talk with them, sit on their laps, sing together and share artwork.

International MOMS Club Mother-to-Mother Fund

The MOMS Club of Eagle River also sets aside a portion of its proceeds from various fundraisers to donate to the International MOMS Club Mother-to-Mother Fund.  This fund was established to assist members across the county with devastating personal emergencies.
